Mr. Blakney has overseen accounting functions and systems as controller of NorComp and currently serves as director of operations finance at LifeNet Health

CHARLOTTE, NC, July 27, 2020 – Michael A. Blakney, CPA, CMA, has been included in Marquis Who’s Who. Drawing on years of expertise in management, strategic planning, finance and more, Mr. Blakney excels as the controller of NorComp, an electronics company that supplies interconnectors for various industries. As the head of a team of 20 people, he leads accounting functions and systems through reporting and analysis, strategic planning and variance explanations. Likewise, Mr. Blakney partners with stakeholders, executives and internal teams, manages month-end close processes and helps reconcile accounts.

Most recently, he began a new role as the Director of Operations Finance at LifeNet Health, based in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

Before obtaining his current position, Mr. Blakney garnered valuable expertise in the field as a senior level finance manager with KaVo North America, and a senior manager of operations and finance for KaVo Kerr. During his tenure with KaVo, he notably built upon his skill set in operations and accounting. In a career suffused with highlights, Mr. Blakney is most proud to have provided the remediation of material weakness at the MCON technologies plant in Spart, South Carolina.

In 1995, Mr. Blakney earned a bachelor’s degree in commerce from the University of Windsor, after which he became a certified management accountant in 2000. To remain aware of developments in the field, he maintains his alignment with the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Due to his outstanding body of work, he has been recognized on several occasions, earning a VIP of the Year Award and a Distinguished Humanitarian Award. Moreover, he has been featured on Live 365 Radio Network, on the front cover of Pro-Files Magazine and in two volumes of Who’s Who in America. In the near future, Mr. Blakney intends to experience the continued growth and success of NorComp, where he will pursue a senior leadership position.
